Our brief for this re-model of a cottage near Limavady called for the comforts of a modern home while retaining the traditional character. Our project really began with the decision to raise the roof level slightly and introduce new dormers to provide more spacious bedrooms.
It was a pleasure to work on this project set within a beautiful and mature riverside garden. The challenge here was to modernise the existing fabric of the building to be damp proof and insulated while retaining the character of the existing cottage. New elements employed traditional materials and techniques such as stone walls, timber sash windows and natural slates. Engineering input was by AMK.
